Popping/crackling noises HEAD?

Diagnosed with Depression/Anxiety Disorder, Now at age 41 --I am aging really fast. Neurologist says my brain has atrophy (Aged at least 20 years)--. I have severe popping/cracking noises in the head--the neurologist doesn't think this is going to killl me--just makes my life miserable and the depression worse than ever. I think my Neurologist is WRONG--I think this aging event is killing me. It will not stop or settle down for 10 months. Anybody out there got the same thing? I am not ashamed to try and find someone who may be going through the same thing...Because this seems very uncommon--and I may have a psychosis going on.
