What was the turning point out of these four battles in world war II?
D-day in Europe, Midway in the Pacific for the same reasons. It was at that point in each theater that the industrial resources of the U.S. were in place were overwhelming. In the Pacific the U.S. destroyed four aircraft carries at Midway for the loss of one. Japan did not have the industrial resource to recover and was forced to fight from a defensive stance thereafter. In Europe Germany was in a much stronger position, it took the U.S. over two years (after midway) to construct the necessary equipment and train enough men to confront them. However after the beachheads were established the flow of men and material could not be stopped and the result was inevitable.
