Does my dog need a walk?

I live in the country where my 5 year old bichon frieze runs around in my yard on nice days but on cold,rainy,snowy, days she runs out does her dutys and comes in.In the summer she runs around outside a lot. I live on gravel roads which make walking my dog not so fun.Should i take her on walks anyways?
