What could this be? loss of voice coughing and spitting up clear phlegm?

over a week ago my mother had loss her voice had headaches and was coughing which only lasted about a week. As soon as she got her voice back and began to feel fine, my grandmother loss her voice and she just got it back earlier this week, Ever since then she's been spitting up clear phlegm often. She just went to the doctor recently and she didn't have none of this. Can someone give me some type of idea of what she has so I can find out what she should do about it.
