Rational Zero Test of f(x)=2x^3+3x^2-8x+3?

The book tells me that x=1 is a ration zero (one of them). Then after synthetic division for x=1 it tells me that f(x) factors as f(x)= (x-1)(2x^2 + 5x - 3) where did the 2x^2+5x - 3 come from??
