The Mayans, or their ancestors, came from Asia, probably across an ice bridge over the Bering Strait. At some time they headed south and ended up in Central America. They were probably absorbed into several tribes when their civilization broke down, most likely the Aztecs. When the Spanish invaded, some Spaniards married or otherwise reproduced with many of the native women since few Spanish women came to the New World. Their progeny became Mexicans, Guatemalans, Salvadorans and so on. You could be of Mayan descent. It's also possible you're not.
